Leopard 46: Multihull of the Year 2025 – A Testament to South African Craftsmanship

The Leopard 46 has secured its reputation as a global leader by winning the 2025 Multihull of the Year in the Sail Cruising category. Combining unparalleled comfort with performance, this award highlights South African innovation and craftsmanship at its finest.

This prestigious accolade, jointly organised by Multihulls World and Multicoques Mag, recognises the most outstanding new multihulls launched between the 2024 and 2025 editions of the Miami International Boat Show.

This annual award is unique in that it reflects the voice of the sailing community. Finalists are selected by an expert jury, and winners are chosen through public voting, where sailors and readers from around the world cast their votes in each of four key categories. The 2025 results were announced on 23 April 2025 at the International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte, France, further cementing the Leopard 46’s global impact.

Built by South Africa’s renowned Robertson & Caine, the Leopard 46 combines sleek design with robust performance, offering expansive social spaces, a front cockpit that integrates seamlessly with the saloon, and thoughtful interior flow. Its bluewater capability and innovative features — such as solar energy integration and efficient systems — make it a compelling choice for both long-range cruisers and liveaboard sailors.

At the heart of this achievement lies a collaborative effort by leading South African creators, including Jo Fensham, whose expert team handcrafted the saloon cushions and cabin mattresses aboard the Leopard 46. With over 40 years of experience in marine upholstery and soft furnishings, Jo Fensham is known for precision fitting, durable comfort, and understated luxury. Every stitch reflects the brand’s enduring commitment to quality and detail.
